I especially enjoyed the Q&A and case studies at the end. Lots of suggestions about what this could be or could look like in my school. It was helpful to have all the examples so I could imagine doing something similar with students at my school.

Dr. Branagh’s presentation at WSCA 2026. The Empathy Effect: Creative Counseling Strategies for Neurodivergent Students and their peers was amazing! She included background information, and real-life strategies with a focus on neurodivergent learners. There was a large crowd despite the session being later in the day and it captured my attention the whole time. She answered each question with patience and understanding, that it was evident she had a great deal of experience working with similar students. Her suggestions and ideas were applicable, easy to implement as well as evidence based and trauma informed. I will be there next year, if she presents again, and am excited to learn more. Highly recommend! Thanks for the book recommendations as well!

I had the pleasure of hearing Jayme speak at the 2026 WSCA Conference in Seattle. She shared specific, practical strategies for supporting neurodivergent students in both classroom and small group settings. What stood out most was her empathetic, student-centered perspective on neurodiversity—she emphasized truly understanding students’ experiences and creating meaningful access points to learning that are inclusive for all. Jayme is a passionate advocate for neurodivergent learners, and her many years working in schools and private therapy bring a depth of experience and knowledge that made the session incredibly valuable.
